Laura brauchte einen m\u00e4nnlichen Verb\u00fcndeten; in ihrem Fall war es Prospero Lambertini, der Erzbischof von Bologna (sp\u00e4ter Papst Benedikt XIV.), der von der Universit\u00e4t gesehen wurde. Sie verteidigte 1732 neunundvierzig Thesen vor den Professoren und erhielt ihren Doktortitel.<\/p>\n<p>Einen Monat sp\u00e4ter war Laura Bassi das erste weibliche Mitglied einer wissenschaftlichen Einrichtung, als die Universit\u00e4t sie als erste weibliche Lehrkraft ernannte. Sie durfte keine reinen M\u00e4nnerklassen unterrichten (was wahrscheinlich die Mehrheit war), aber es war ein Fortschritt. Und sie wurde sogar daf\u00fcr bezahlt. Eine Zeit lang war sie die bestbezahlte Angestellte der Universit\u00e4t.<br \/>\nLambertini half ihr, die Erlaubnis f\u00fcr Privatunterricht und Experimente zu erhalten.<br \/>\nIm Jahr 1738 heiratete Bassi Giuseppe Veratti, einen Doktor der Medizin und Dozent f\u00fcr Anatomie an der Universit\u00e4t von Bologna.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Bassi wurde die wichtigste Verbreiterin der Newtonschen Mechanik in Italien. 1745 wurde sie Mitglied der Benedettini (\u00e4hnlich der modernen P\u00e4pstlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften).
